Griffin-Woodhouse Limited is pleased to introduce the latest member of its team, Capt. Mark Honey, who joins GWEC as Defence & Marine Warranty Manager. Mark’s wealth of knowledge and experience, detailed below, will undoubtedly enhance our mooring and anchoring equipment & services offering to navies worldwide.

Biography

Mark joined the Royal Maritime Auxiliary Service (RMAS) in 1979 as a Cabin Boy. Initially serving on inshore tugs he progressed to Able Seaman on deep sea tugs and then Bosun on cable laying vessels. Mark attended Fleetwood Maritime College to gain both his Class 4 Deck Officer and Class 3 Officer of the Watch qualifications, and Glasgow University to obtain an Inshore Master Certificate of Competency. In 1989 Mark transferred to ‘Moorings’ serving in both Scotland and then Plymouth as Assistant Mooring Master Ashore before becoming Chief Officer and subsequently Master of the Salmaid and Newton, and ultimately Mooring Master Ashore at Pembroke Dock. In 2007 Mark was seconded as Marine Superintendent to RMAS, now known as Serco Marine Services, before being given full responsibility for running the moorings programme as Contract Manager in 2015 until his recent retirement.
